BOTOX® Cosmetic Wrinkle Treatment

BOTOX® Cosmetic has become a physician favorite for wrinkle treatment. Botulinum Toxin Type A (BOTOX®) works by blocking the release of the chemical that causes muscles to contract, enabling them to relax so skin appears smoother and wrinkles fade away. BOTOX® can be used to treat wrinkles between the eye brows, commonly known as frown lines or the 11’s, as well as wrinkles in the forehead and around the eyes (crow’s feet). BOTOX® has also been successfully used for the treatment of chin creases, horizontal neck lines, and wrinkles around the mouth. It  has also been used in facial asymmetry or paralysis to reduce expressiveness on the unaffected side and for some forms of migraines and facial spasms.

BOTOX® typically takes 3-5 days to take effect after injection and lasts between 3-6 months.
