Neck Lift Surgery (Platysmaplasty)

Just as time brings changes to the face, the neck too reveals signs of aging. Neck lift surgery, also known as platysmaplasty, works to improve the appearance of loosened neck muscles and excess skin that can appear with age. Incisions are made under the chin and/or behind the ears to manipulate underlying muscles in the front and back borders, which are ultimately stitched to eliminate the common “turkey neck” appearance. In some cases, a neck lift is paired with a lipectomy procedure, or the surgical removal of fatty tissue.

At your first post-operative appointment, your tight dressing will be changed to a looser, protective dressing. Make up can be applied after one week and after approximately two weeks of non-stressful activities, you may resume your normal activities.
